In the (Austral) winter of 2013, a very special and dear project materialized: Caz Gardiner; two of her Day Laborers, Jorge Pezzimenti and Jorge E. Bañales; Daniel Flores (Satélite Kingston, DF & The Rumba Box); and Jochi Descalzo (Smocking Flamingo, Aggrotones and Gigantes Magnéticos) joined forces for a tour of Argentina. A mix of Argentine, (North) American, and Uruguayan friends gave a set of shows in Buenos Aires and the neighboring cities of La Plata, and Ituzaingó, putting together material from different individual projects in a unique set. The result of it all was an absolut highlight for everyone involved.
This virtual single is a big thanks to those who helped to book and produce these gigs and to those who came to see us, and even to those who could not make it. These two songs, “Needles And Pins” (recorded in the studio during those busy days in Argentina) and “Cycles” (live at Liverpool bar, in Palermo, B.A.), are our gift to all those people, our little souvenir of an unforgettable trip. -- Daniel Flores

El invierno (austral) de 2013 vio concretado un proyecto muy especial y muy querido: el tour por Buenos Aires y alrededores de Caz Gardiner; dos de sus Day Laborers, Jorge Pezzimenti y Jorge E. Bañales; Daniel Flores (Satélite Kingston, DF & The Rumba Box); y Jochi Descalzo (Smocking Flamingo, Aggrotones, Gigantes Magnéticos). Este combinado de amigos argentinos, norteamericanos y uruguayos ofreció una serie de shows en B.A., La Plata e Ituzaingó combinando repertorio de distintos proyectos en un único set. El resultado, un highlight absoluto en el devenir musical de cada uno de los involucrados.
Por eso, este single virtual es un mensaje de agradecimiento a todos los que nos ayudaron a concretar estos conciertos y a todos los que nos vinieron a escuchar e incluso a los que no pudieron hacerlo. Con un tema (Needles And Pins) grabado en el estudio en esos mismos agitados días y otro (Cycles) registrado durante el show de la sala Liverpool, de Palermo, este es nuestro regalo a todos ellos, nuestro pequeño souvenir de un viaje para recordar siempre. -- Daniel Flores
